Exclusively creating custom designed wedding cakes since 1981, the Wedding Cake Connection specializes in both buttercream and fondant icings. Serve your guests an exceptionally moist cake, choosing from 18 different flavors and fillings. Delivery and set-up in Peoria are included in our price.

About the Designer

Since 1981 Barbara Evans has owned and operated the Wedding Cake Connection located in Peoria, Illinois, offering custom designed wedding cakes.  In 2013 the Wedding Cake Connection was awarded “The Knot”, Best of Weddings Award.    

Barbara is the owner and designer of the Stable Mabel Cake Support Systems: www.stablemabel.com.  In 2017 Barbara was very pleased to become a part-time instructor at the French Pastry School in Chicago where she is teaching in both the Cake and Pastry programs. http://www.frenchpastryschool.com/ 

Barbara is a past Show Director & Board Member for the International Cake Exploration Societe. In 2008 she earned the title of Certified Master Sugar Artist and has served as a Certification Adjudicator.  In 2010 she competed on a TLC’s Ultimate Cake Off team.  Success in other competitions include: National Gingerbread Contest, Asheville NC, OSSAS, Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show, National Capital Cake Show, Wilton Anniversary Competition, America’s Baking & Sweet Show and more.

Barbara’s work has been shown in several publications including: ICES, American Cake Decorating, Cake Craft and Decoration Magazine, Edible Artist Magazine, British Sugarcraft, Chicago Brides & Florist Review.  She has taught a variety of classes including buttercream,  fondant, gumpaste flowers, quilling, stenciling, chocolate, gingerbread, string work and run sugar. Venues include: Las Vegas Cake Camp, Florida Mini Classes, Massachusetts ICES Mini Classes, Austin Cake Show, National Capital Cake Show in Virginia and the Telford, England Show.
